This writer highly recommends Caroline’s Cafe right near the intersection of Caroline & Duval. It’s a really great outdoor restaurant with lots of character, not to mention the characters who work there, and a really good view of the passersby on Duval Street.

Carolines

They have the best burger on the island, The Rev. Joe Burger, at Caroline’s, as well as really great Key Lime Pie, and they also have a full bar, and several fine beers and wines.

The staff at Caroline’s is quick, attentive, and hospitable! Tell Robert the general manager, as well as any other staff members that; “the Professor says hello!” (They may remember me as the guy with the bowtie!)

Key West Florida: Why Does Everyone Love Key West Florida?

*************************

For your convenience, there are many small neighborhood grocery stores and convenience stores, scattered all around the island, whether you want to walk or ride your bike to get beer, ice, soda, bread, milk, cigarettes, lottery tickets, newspapers, and a multitude of other food items and sundries.

For those who prefer a full fledged, full-sized, first-class supermarket, there are TWO Publix Supermarkets on the island! As a native Floridian, this writer LOVES Publix, and you probably will, too!

Publix Key West

Publixwhere shopping is a pleasure! Both stores are surrounded by other stores and restaurants.

*************************

No trip to Key West would be complete without a fun visit to this famous tourist destination: The Hemingway Home & Museum and they have a wonderful walking tour of the property! You will love it!

Hemingway House

Attention Cat Lovers: there are dozens of delightful cats running all around the property, and they are all direct descendants of the felines owned by Papa himself! Each one has been named after a famous person!

*************************

All around the island there are many awesome restaurants and bars, and several of them have really great, live music or other fun entertainment. Who doesn’t love relaxing to a cool drink and listening to some great, live music?

Captain Tonys

This spot is where Sloppy Joe’s used to be, before the owner in those days, cut a deal with the landlord on the corner of Duval, and then had all the patrons grab a chair, stool, or table and follow him to the new location. Both establishments have wonderful live entertainment! Captain Tony’s Saloon is certainly worth a visit!

The weather in Key West is always so wonderful, that you’ll think you’ve died and gone to heaven! The average year-round temperature is better here than in most places on earth!

There are jobs galore in Key West, and if you can pass a drug test and a criminal background check, then you will really have your pick of decent jobs!

Most of the art galleries and jewelry stores pay a nice hourly wage PLUS a nice commission, and if you have any sales experience, then there will be no shortage of jobs for you to choose from! The same goes for waiters, waitresses, and bartenders! Many jobs in hospitality, as well as in food and beverage, exist in Key West!

I understand that the US Postal Service often has to entice postal workers from Miami to come down and help out. There are also many other great government jobs in Key West.

If you have a Florida Real Estate License or are willing to get one, or if you have real estate experience from another state, and are willing to get licensed in Florida, or if you want to try your hand at this exciting business, then give Darrin a call at Key West Luxury Real Estate, Inc. and tell him The Professor sent you. (You will please mention this blog!)

Maybe you have lots of personality and sales ability, but you’re ready to start selling million dollar homes, rather than twenty dollar tee shirts, two hundred dollar snorkeling trips, or two thousand dollar watches! Call Darrin to talk about the options and possibilities available to you!

trolley

Historic Tours is also one of the larger employers on the island. They always have some job opportunities as well.
